Guidelines
and Eligibility
The Foundation makes grants only to tax-exempt organizations with 501(c)(3) classifications from the Internal Revenue Service, or to organizations with 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsors. Funds cannot be used in contravention of the requirements of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
The Foundation will only fund organizations that are in full compliance with State and Federal nondiscrimination, equality of opportunity, privacy, and safety requirements. Please note that The Beker Foundation reserves the right to decline any application for any reason.
Please review the following guidelines to determine if your organization or program may be eligible for funding. We try to be as transparent as possible, and we take every incoming inquiry seriously. We ask that you read these carefully before you reach out to us. Your organization should be able to meet at least one criteria under each heading.

Is your organization/program’s work aligned with one or more of our strategic objectives?
Strengthen communities and networks
Field-building, network-weaving, and advocacy that strengthens collective capacity and/or advances equitable policies in areas where we invest
Programs and initiatives that advance equity and/or improve community health and wellbeing in the Greater Boston Area
Growing the capacity of artists to be agents of reflection and change, given that the arts are an essential component of a healthy society
Uplift underserved young people in Greater Boston
Increasing access to enriching learning and engagement opportunities
Empowering and developing educators, whose work has a multiplier effect
Investing in embedded mental health initiatives that make it easier for youth to access support
Deepen connection to Jewish life & community
Investing in the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of Jewish Day Schools
Supporting experiences that spark Jewish joy and cultivate Jewish participation
Promoting meaningful encounters with Jewish arts and culture
Cultivate belonging, resilience, and emotional wellbeing in our Jewish community
Inside the Boston Jewish community, making it more welcoming and inclusive
Between the Jewish community and others, building bridges of understanding here and in Israel
In organizations who are working to build both individual and communal resilience in Jewish contexts
