Guidelines
and Eligibility

The Foundation makes grants only to tax-exempt organizations with 501(c)(3) classifications from the Internal Revenue Service, or to organizations with 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsors.  Funds cannot be used in contravention of the requirements of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). 

The Foundation will only fund organizations that are in full compliance with State and Federal nondiscrimination, equality of opportunity, privacy, and safety requirements. Please note that The Beker Foundation reserves the right to decline any application for any reason.

Please review the following guidelines to determine if your organization or program may be eligible for funding. We try to be as transparent as possible, and we take every incoming inquiry seriously. We ask that you read these carefully before you reach out to us. Your organization should be able to meet at least one criteria under each heading.

Does your organization/program work to achieve one or more of the following objectives?

  • Make the natural and built environment safer, healthier, more accessible, and sustainable

  • Improve access to and quality of mental health services

  • Stabilize individuals and families to protect against further poverty and violence

  • Dismantle patterns of hate and undo systems of oppression

  • Make learning environments more equitable, innovative, and compassionate

  • Make the Jewish community more vibrant, inclusive and welcoming

  • Strengthen communities and networks

  • Foster creativity to provide outlets for expression, spark innovation, and fill the world with beauty
